I should also note that the Covenant doesn't share the same issue they can colonize my planets no problem.Important: RESTART Sins of a Solar Empire after activating the mod. Because I can't colonize more planets, I can't set up a solid defense and am just constantly barely scraping by while they're now relentlessly attacking my worlds. As a result, I'm at a complete impasse where I was finally doing good in this damn game. I know there's a thing for culture (a broadcast station) in the Research tab and I just built it, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I've been expanding and have even driven the Covenant off of some worlds, but now I'm at an impasse because there are some vital worlds that I've driven them from that are essentially foothold planets into each other's territories, but I can't colonize them because of "hostile culture" despite the fact that I've destroyed every last structure and ship in the gravity well. I'm playing as UNSC against the Covenant on Easy Fortifier on a Random-Large-No Flood map, and I control the bottom half of the system while the Covenant controls the top half.

I'm now running into a problem where I can't colonize a planet because of a hostile culture. It made the game really hard and really not fun to play.Īny advice for managing things at this point? I'm trying to figure out the best way to keep a clean home, so to speak. Pretty much, past a point, I don't really feel like I'm in control of the game anymore because every planet I hold is just a chaotic mess of stuff, all constantly moving around and mixing in with another. I just start getting indistinguishable messes of icons floating around, and I've never found the icon listing on the left of the screen to be particularly helpful. I've had situations where I created a specific ship for a specific purpose, sent in to another planet to fulfill that purpose, and then literally couldn't find it as it blended it with the crowd. I lose track of what ships are at what planets. And when my territory gets that large, it gets really hard to manage anything. Rather than holding four planets that get wiped like I used to, my last game had me holding at one point more than a dozen planets.

But akin to the saying "Mo' money, mo' problems", progress in the game leads to new challenges.

Does anyone know how to really use it?įirst off, thank you guys for all the tips and tricks you've been giving me so far. It still feels like it just gives me a random system based loosely on my "suggestions".

What I'm saying is that I don't feel like I have much control over Forge. The result is that I'm struggling to build one ship at a time and unable to unlock upgrades with while the Covenant attacks me less than a half hour into a 1v1 on a 119 planet system. I'm playing as UNSC against the Covenant and hoping to get a little head start, you know? But the game then randomly starts me on my Capital Temperate planet (okay) surrounded by Asteroids and Barren planets (dafuq?) on a 119 planet solar system (I was hoping for about 80-something, but I guess "76-120 planets" includes 119 planets), the Covenant seemingly only a few planets away and almost every rebel-held planet having a fleet with multiple Eion-class Light Carriers. I'll admit to trying to cheat a little for an advantage, making Planet Group 0 all Temperate planets before creating a mix of different gravity wells for the remaining ones (Planet Groups 1-4, with all Planet Groups having 4-5 gravity wells). But it always creates a solar system that's "best guestimate". I want to create a solar system with a specific number of planets, planet types in a certain order, etc.
